Ann‑Marie Kyes
Ann‑Marie Kyes brings more than four decades of experience in emergency services, organizational leadership, and community development. Raised on a seventh‑generation family farm in central Maine, she grew up in a community defined by service, resilience, and collaboration—values that have guided her throughout her career.
Ann‑Marie began her public safety service early, becoming a junior firefighter at fourteen and one of the first women to serve as a full active member of her local fire department at eighteen. She went on to join the Wilderness Rescue Team, become an EMT and later an Advanced EMT, and serve as the first female police officer in her town. Over the years, she has supported multiple police departments, participated in search‑and‑rescue operations with both K9 and equine partners, and served on a Wildland Firefighting crew. From 2013 to 2018, she served Sharon Springs and Schoharie County, and she and her wife Christine continue to serve as Firefighters and EMTs with the Town & Country Fire Department.
In addition to her public safety background, Ann‑Marie has extensive executive‑level experience in corporate operations. After relocating to California, she advanced from Building Operations Manager to Executive Director of Building Operations, overseeing facilities nationwide ranging from 30,000 to 150,000 square feet. Her leadership portfolio included engineering, housekeeping, safety, and security, and she collaborated with major organizations such as Reebok, Ritz‑Carlton, and Four Seasons.
Since returning to New York in 2001, Ann‑Marie has continued her commitment to community and youth development. She has served for more than 25 years as a Life Coach and 4‑H Leader and has held multiple leadership roles with Cornell Cooperative Extension, including the State Horse Education Advisory Committee, the 4‑H Advisory Committee, the Board of Directors, and the Executive Committee as Treasurer. She is also the Founder and President of her nonprofit organization and President of her new business venture.
Ann‑Marie’s involvement with Hero Fund America began with the inaugural Run 4 The Hills event, where she supported the Sharon Springs Rescue Squad’s participation. In 2015, she joined the Hero Fund America Board of Directors and continues to serve as Treasurer, contributing her extensive experience in financial planning, accounting, and organizational governance to advance the organization’s mission.
