Hero Fund America raises funds that support Fire, EMS & Law Enforcement Agencies. The HFA Fund makes annual grants through the Community Foundation of Oneida and Herkimer Counties, Inc.
A first responder is a person (such as a firefighter, police officer or an EMT/Paramedic) who is among those responsible for going immediately to the scene of an accident or emergency to provide assistance.
Most emergency service departments (volunteer, in particular) are frequently in need of individuals willing to volunteer their time and energy. If you have an interest in helping others & keeping you community safe, contact your local departments!
We are a volunteer board of directors; there are no paid employees. Your contributions primarily support our permanent charitable endowment fund (which will provide grants to first responders in perpetuity) & our Duty Gear Challenge winners at Run 4 the Hills for First Responders.
