2019 Hero Fund America Grants Awarded

Hero Fund America would like to congratulate the following three departments who have been chosen as 2019 Hero Fund grant recipients, administered by the Oneida Herkimer Community Foundation in Utica, New York. The Otter Lake Fire Department in Otter Lake, NY – to purchase UTV wild land firefighting equipment, the Newberry Fire Department, Newberry, Fl – funds will assist with advanced EMS training, fire operations & tactical training, driver engineer training & fire officer basic & advanced training, and the South Minden Fire Department in Fort Plain, NY – their grant will assist with the purchase of communication equipment & reflective gear. Thank you to all of the applicants and to this years award recipients!

2019 HFA Grant Round now open through 9/13/19!

All qualified organizations will be asked to complete a simple grant intake form. Forms will be accepted until 9/13/2019 – our friends at the Community Foundation of Oneida & Herkimer Counties will review all submissions following that date and determine the funding recipients for this year. All departments may apply.

6th annual Run 4 the Hills for First Responders, May 4, 2019

If you haven’t experienced it yet, our annual signature event will lift your spirits, elevate your heart rate, and remind you why supporting Hero Fund America is so important! Online registration is open. This year we are offering a $1,000 cash prize for each first place finishing team competing in Fire, EMS and Law Enforcement (along with trophies), individual ribbons in each division (1st, 2nd & 3rd place) and a pair of New Balance sneakers to the first male & female finisher with an open drawing for the third! All wrapped up with a post-race party behind the American Hotel in Sharon Springs that you will never forget. Don’t want to participate but interested in sponsorships?
